About Income Tax Department:

The Income Tax Department (also referred to as IT Department; abbreviated as ITD) is a government agency responsible for the direct tax collection of the government of India. It operates under the Department of Revenue of the Ministry of Finance. The Income Tax Department is overseen by the apex body Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT). Its primary role is to enforce various direct tax laws, with the most significant being the Income-tax Act, 1961, to generate revenue for the government of India. It also enforces other economic laws such as the Benami Transactions (Prohibition) Act, 1988, and the Black Money Act, 2015.

    • Qualification: Degree from a recognized university or equivalent.
  2. Tax Assistant
    • Qualification: Degree from a recognized university or equivalent.
  3. Multi-Tasking Staff
    • Qualification: Matriculation or equivalent pass from a recognized Board/ Council.

Application Fees of Income Tax Recruitment 2023:

The examination fee can be paid through Debit Card, Credit Card, Net Banking, or E Challan. Note that SC / ST / PH / Female Candidates’ fee of Rs. 250/- will be refunded after appearing in Part I Written Exam.
